How Much Does A Wedding Cake Cost in The Bahamas? (with real prices)
Here's a question almost no bakery will answer on the internet: what does a wedding cake actually cost?
You've probably noticed the pattern. You find a gorgeous cake on Instagram, click through, and hit the same wall every time — "DM us for a quote." So you send the message, wait two days, answer six questions, and finally get a number you could have ruled in or out in ten seconds.
We think that's a silly way to plan a wedding. So here are our real prices, published, for a wedding in Nassau or anywhere in the Bahamas. I'm Jessica, the cake artist behind Take A Bite, and this is the guide I wish every bride had on day one.
The short answer
For a wedding in the Bahamas, expect to invest:
Two-tier wedding cake (serves about 36): $430–$720
Three-tier wedding cake (serves about 75): $900–$1,500
Faux-tier showpiece (three-tier look, serves via insert): $675–$900
Single-tier celebration cakes (elopements, intimate dinners, bridal showers): from $165
Anything bigger: $900 and up
Sheet Cakes (serves 50): $250
Every design in our online collection shows its price, sizes, and all twelve flavours — you can order in minutes without ever requesting a quote. But if you want to understand why prices land where they do, keep reading.
What actually drives the price of a wedding cake
Wedding cake pricing isn't mysterious once someone explains it. Four things move the number:
Servings. Cake is priced substantially by how many guests it feeds. A two-tier serving 36 people simply contains less cake, less structure, and fewer hours than a three-tier serving 75. This is why the first question any baker asks is your guest count.
Design complexity. Smooth buttercream with fresh florals sits at the lower end. Hand-piped vintage detail, sculptural sugar work, hand-painting, and gold leaf sit higher — those are hours of an artist's hands on your cake. At Take A Bite, the range within each tier size (say, $900 versus $1,500 for a three-tier) is almost entirely design complexity.
Flavour and filling. Most of our twelve signature flavours — including Bahamas Rum with walnut praline, Guava Love, and Piña Colada — are included in the listed price. Premium or custom flavour requests can add a little.
Delivery and setup. A wedding cake isn't dropped at the door. It travels in a controlled vehicle, gets assembled and finished on site, and is styled in place before your photographer needs it. Ask any bride who's had a cake arrive late (or leaning) — this is not the line item to trim.
The faux-tier: the smartest option most couples have never heard of
Here's an industry secret we're happy to give away: you can have the dramatic three-tier photo moment without paying for three tiers of cake.
A faux-tier cake pairs beautifully finished display tiers with a real serving insert. Your guests are served exactly the cake they'd get otherwise. Your photos are identical — truly, nobody can tell. Your bill is roughly 40% lighter: $675–$900 instead of $1,050–$1,500 for our most-loved designs.
If your guest list is modest but your Pinterest board is not, this is your cake. Nearly every design in our collection can be built as a faux-tier — just ask.
Destination wedding? Your cake might be the easiest vendor you book
If you're planning your Bahamas wedding from the US, Canada, or the UK, cake is one vendor you don't need a video call for. Our full collection is online — design, size, flavour, colourway, price, checkout. We coordinate delivery and setup directly with your venue or planner, from resort ballrooms to beach ceremonies.
One of our brides, Miesha, put it better than we could: "It was delivered on time and set in place in time for the photographer to get some amazing shots. It was definitely a focal point at our wedding... We actually did not want to cut it!"
And if you're dreaming of something fully custom, we do that too — book a tasting and we'll design it together over a flight of our signature flavours.
How to budget: three quick examples
The elopement or micro-wedding (10–20 guests). A single-tier celebration cake from the collection, from $165–$200. Add fresh florals to match your bouquet and it's every bit a wedding cake.
The classic Nassau wedding (30–50 guests). A two-tier design, $430–$720 depending on detail. This is our most-ordered wedding size — generous servings, beautiful proportions in photos.
The showpiece wedding (70+ guests, or anyone who wants drama). A three-tier at $900–$1,500 — or the faux-tier version at $675–$900 if you'd rather put the difference toward the honeymoon.
Frequently asked questions
When should I order my wedding cake? For fall and winter dates in the Bahamas, 6–8 weeks ahead is comfortable; peak season books earlier. Shop designs can sometimes be accommodated faster — ask us on WhatsApp at (242) 804-2565.
Is delivery included in the price? Delivery and setup are quoted based on your venue location in New Providence and added at checkout or confirmation, so there are no surprises later. Delivery pricing ranges from $75-$200 depending on location, and the complexity of the design.
Can I taste the flavours first? Yes — tastings are a curated flight of our signature flavours plus a design consultation. Destination couples can schedule virtually with a tasting box arranged on arrival.
Do prices change for beach ceremonies? Beach and outdoor weddings need heat-smart construction and finishes. We build for the island climate as standard — it's our home turf — though some designs adapt better than others, and we'll tell you honestly which.
The bottom line
A wedding cake in the Bahamas runs from about $430 for an elegant two-tier to $1,500 for a fully detailed three-tier showpiece — and clever options like the faux-tier put the grand look within reach of real budgets. You shouldn't have to message three bakeries to learn that.
